This presentation is directed toward honoring and encouraging those who serve our communities day after day, often without the recognition they richly deserve. Bruce's brief experience with the Fire/Law-Enforcement/Military community has given him a deep appreciation for these public servants, and the great
service they render to our communities and nation. Often, these heroes are uncomfortable with public recognition, seeking no self-glory. This event is done in a tasteful and non-embarrassing way, giving honor to whom honor is due, while emphasizing the great teamwork they operate in.
Proposed Schedule:
Saturday Morning
Breakfast of Champions
Special breakfast served to fire/police/EMS personnel honoring their service to the community.
This would be an all-afternoon event sponsored by your church or organization. Local Fire Department, Police, EMS, & Military (Including Civil Air Patrol) are invited to set up static displays of fire apparatus, police cars and crime-lab vans, military equipment and drill demonstrations, recruitment booths, etc. Children would be given tours and demonstrations of how fires
are extinguished. (They love operating a fire hose!) Police
could give home safety and crime prevention tips, and Emergency Medical personnel could give free blood pressure screenings to the public.
The idea is to provide a public service to your local community by hosting an opportunity for these responder organizations to demonstrate what they do and generate interest in the public mind. Public relations is a very important component to these organizations in order to sustain public support and funding. Press and media will be invited
and interviews with Senior Pastor and local Emergency Response Officials.
